Position Description

The Food Service Assistant helps in final preparation and service of a meal at The Well Café and/or other Centre for the City Ministries.

Responsibilities

• Undertake final meal preparations e.g. plating of desserts, grilling, etc.

• Prepare for meal service e.g. food into chafers, plates & cutlery, serving trays, etc.

• Assist in preparing coffee, tea and other beverages for the beverage station

• Assist in cleaning up the kitchen and doing dishes

• Plate and serve meals

• Engage in conversation with the neighbours you serve

• Report to head cook when more supplies are needed

Time Commitment

Two shifts are available for regularly engaged team members. Special events may require additional assistance where expose members can partake. Team members commit to one of the following time slots.

• Monday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

• Wednesday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Qualifications

• Understanding of, and agreement with, the CSC Statement of Faith, Mission and Pursuits (cf https://www.cschurch.ca/central/about/who-we-are/)

• Familiarity with Compassion & Care mission, vision and process

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time, Manual dexterity
